Guided Canoe Tours
The Uhlenköper Camp regularly organizes guided canoe tours. During the season, these usually take place on Thursdays (other days are also possible by arrangement) and vary depending on demand among the tours described below. Experienced guides accompany you throughout the entire trip. From them, you’ll learn paddling techniques, how to properly interact with the animals and plants along the river, and all sorts of interesting facts about the waterways. All tours are designed for leisurely paddling and are suitable for the whole family, including beginners.
Before each tour, there is a briefing to help you feel comfortable with the boat and the water. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have about the itinerary, paddling technique, and safety.
Accompanied by a guide, you’ll paddle on either the Ilmenau or the Gerdau, depending on the tour:
- Meet by arrangement at the Uhlenköper Camp in Uelzen-Westerweyhe or at the previously agreed-upon meeting point
- Orientation
- Break with a picnic and, if desired, some fun games
- Highlights (depending on the tour): Boat slide, Elbe Side Canal, Klein Bünstorfer Heide, Ratsteich
- Arrival at the agreed-upon drop-off point
While guided tours require a minimum of 10 people on your preferred date, you can also join the Thursday tour as an individual or as a family. Please register in advance (by Wednesday at the latest).
