The Westerweyhe Walking Trail- Map

The Westerweyhe Walking Trail

It begins either at the end or at the start of the Uhlenköper Camp in Uelzen-Westerweyhe. Normally, access to a campsite is restricted—or even prohibited—for non-campers, since you would be entering private property. This is always a pity because campsites are full of beautiful and lovingly arranged features that are worth discovering. That’s why this campsite is different, and everyone is invited to explore the grounds along the walking trail. Whether it’s on a dog walk, a stroll with a pram, or just for the fun of it—come onto the premises, follow the signs, explore the area, and then continue on your way.

Passing by buzzing bee colonies, the Schwurbelmeer, and the small animal barn, you’ll see the Schlummertonnen in Titivu, then the Schwurbelnester, and catch a glimpse of the NaturFreiBad. The route continues with a view over the Quellteich past the Ikos and, at least in summer, past a wide variety of camping vehicles and tents. In the large main building, you’re welcome to try out the marble run, and if you fancy a cappuccino or a Zisch, come into the bistro—open daily. Now you can also check out bicycles, canoes, and car sharing, and you’ll pass the interactive information pillar of the Hanseatic city of Uelzen. Take a look at the next excursion destination or the upcoming performances at the Ilmenau Theatre. Once through the gate, you’re back on public land to continue your stroll happily. Thank you for your visit.

Anyone can use this trail at any time. Please respect the privacy of the campers and residents and keep an eye on your pets.

There is an admission fee to enter the swimming pool area, but everything else is free to explore.
